Pre-Seed EQ equine breeding lubricant and sheath cleaner. Fertility-friendly lubricating gel provides optimal pH and osmolarity that will not irritate mucus membranes, damage sperm or interfere with fertilization and embryo development, as can other lubricants. Developed by a Reproduction Veterinarian specifically not to harm sperm, oocytes or embryos during reproductive interventions, such as semen collection, insemination, transvaginal ultrasound and embryo transfer.
Pre Seed EQ is a premium formulation with a high viscosity and high concentration of the bioactive plant antioxidant, arabinogalactan, for optimal support of reproductive function, especially in horses. It is recommended for semen collection and insemination in valuable breedings; for stallions with poor sperm quality or whose sperm will be frozen; for mares who are sensitive or prone to infections/irritation; or anytime optimal reproductive function is desired for any species. Excellent sheath cleaner, too – no rinsing needed.

Testimonials
"I started to use Pre~Seed EQ for horse about three weeks ago. I found my stallion's penis is much less irritated by the disposable liners we use. I need to use much less of the Pre~Seed EQ, as it is more slippery that the other popular lube…so cost of use is about the same... Most importantly his semen are longer lived with a much higher percentage of motile sperm than when I had to use a large amount of the other lube."

"Due to its non-irritating nature, I have found Pre~Seed is great for sheath cleaning. It dissolves secretions easily, and need not be rinsed out. I have had horses with chronically thickened sheath skin and foul smelling discharge, improve dramatically when other products for cleaning were discontinued and Pre~Seed was used instead."

"Our mare had huge open wounds on both her back legs due to a fence injury. It has taken a year of nursing care to get her back to function. At first, we tried every salve and ointment available, under her dressings. Then we switched to Pre~Seed, and it was amazing! It really helped her heal faster, and the tissue would look very clean and healthy at bandage changes, unlike the ooey gooey mess most ointments caused."

"We started using this product in the 2007 breeding season-and our veterinarian liked it very much. He felt that it took much less lube in the AV and I believe that it did help motility on shipped semen. We will use it again in 2008."

"Pre-Seed EQ has been terrific, particularly for difficult stallions that need lubrication of the AV more than once. The lubricant certainly has no effect on motility up to 48 hr after collection… I was able to improve 3 stallions that were considered poor semen shippers, to an acceptable level of motility 36 hours after collection, just by changing the lube to Pre-Seed EQ ."

"I do about 4-6 canine breedings on a normal day in our office. I keep a tube of Pre-Seed handy to lubricate my gloves and insemination instruments. As a lubricant, it often makes the difference between passing an insemination pipette all the way to the end of the vaginal vault, especially in younger, nervous females. I have found it far superior to other non-spermicidal lubricants I have used in the past. What a great feeling to think I am not only enhancing placement of the sperm, but their motility as well!
In my chilled semen shippers, I always tape a packet of Pre-Seed to the top of the box for the use of the person receiving the semen. What a great feeling to know I am helping to ensure a litter of puppies with great semen and a great lubricant.
A terrific product."

"I used Pre-Seed most of last year breeding season. When I ran several tests changing only the lube the numbers of my stallions PMS lived longer at a much higher percentage when I used Preseed.
I would not use anything else. I found it non-irritating to him and offered plenty of lubrication. I also used much less than the other lube. I also purchased as much as I would have used of the other lube to find out that at the end of the breeding season I had over half of what I thought I would use left. I collected my stallion 3 to 4 days per week from March through July. I started using Pre-Seed in April.
Though hard to prove I think it also improved my pregnancy rates on shipped semen."

"We have successfully used Pre-Seed during semen collection and artificial insemination procedures with a number of exotic species and are very pleased with the results."

A study in the
Current Therapy in Equine Medicine (© 2009) found "progressive motility of sperm in Pre-Seed EQ did not differ from that of control sperm."
